This Privacy Policy applies to the EzyRyde Rider and Driver mobile applications available on the Google Play Store. By downloading, accessing, or using the EzyRyde Platform, you agree to and consent to this Privacy Policy and its future amendments.

This Policy applies to Riders, Drivers, and all users of the EzyRyde Platform — including the mobile application, website, and any services offered.

1. Introduction

Your privacy matters to EzyRyde. This Privacy Policy describes how EzyRyde ("Company", "we", "our", "us") collects, uses, processes, stores, retrieves, discloses, transfers, and protects your information when you access or use the EzyRyde Platform.

If you do not agree with this Policy, you must discontinue use of the EzyRyde Platform. You represent that the information you provide is accurate and lawful, and that your use does not violate applicable laws.

2. Definitions

  • Driver: Independent electric auto-rickshaw operators offering services via EzyRyde.
  • Rider: A person booking rides through the EzyRyde Platform.
  • Device: Mobile phone, tablet, or computer used to access services.
  • Personal Information: Data identifying an individual.
  • Sensitive Personal Data: Government IDs, biometric data, health data.
  • TPSP: Third-Party Service Provider.

3. Permissions & Data Usage

EzyRyde requires the following device permissions for core functionality:

  • Location (Foreground & Background): Ride matching, navigation, real-time tracking, safety, and fraud prevention.
  • Phone: Masked communication between Riders and Drivers.
  • SMS: OTP verification only. No storage or sharing.
  • Camera: Profile photos, KYC verification, and document uploads.
  • Storage: Secure document storage on device.
  • Notifications: Ride alerts, payments, and safety updates.

EzyRyde does not use permissions for advertising, surveillance, or unauthorized tracking.

4. Information We Collect

Information You Provide:

  • Account details: Name, mobile number, email, date of birth, gender, profile photo, login credentials.
  • Driver KYC: Aadhaar, PAN, driving license, vehicle registration, insurance documents, live selfies.
  • Vehicle information: Vehicle number, EV type, compliance and battery details.
  • Feedback & support messages, ratings, and referrals.

Information Collected Automatically:

  • Location data: Real-time GPS while app is in use. Background location for active rides.
  • Ride data: History, routes, timestamps, fares, distance, ride status.
  • Device info: Model, OS version, IP address, app version, crash logs.
  • Payment info: Payment method, transaction IDs (we do NOT store card/UPI credentials).

5. How We Use Your Information

  • To match riders with nearby drivers and facilitate rides.
  • To process payments and send receipts.
  • To verify driver identity and ensure platform safety.
  • To provide customer support and resolve disputes.
  • To send ride notifications, promotions, and service updates.
  • To improve our app, services, and driver-rider experience.
  • To comply with legal obligations under Indian law.

6. Data Sharing

We may share your data with:

  • Other users: Drivers see rider name, pickup/drop. Riders see driver name, photo, vehicle info.
  • Service providers: Payment gateways, cloud hosting, analytics, and support tools — strictly for operations.
  • Legal authorities: When required by law, court order, or government mandate.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

7. Data Retention

We retain your data as long as your account is active or as required to provide services. After account deletion, we retain certain data as required by law (typically 7 years for financial records). You may request deletion of your account and data — see the Delete Account page.

  • Secure cloud infrastructure with access controls.
  • Regular security audits and penetration testing.
  • Two-factor authentication for admin access.
  • Masked phone numbers between riders and drivers.
